Music by Ukrainian contemporary composers gets more and more attention from foreign musicians, enriching their repertoire. Lyudmyla Yurina is one of the Ukrainian composers, admired by performers and audiences in many countries around the world. We are happy to present two of her pieces at once: “Drift” (2014) and “Ran-nan” for 19 string instruments (1993).
Profound pieces written using modern musical techniques can be compared to a picture that one wants to look at for a long time to understand the idea and author's message. But it is not enough to look at the canvas only from the outside, it is important to look inside oneself. Through the prism of one`s feelings, emotions, experience, associations, and imagination, the same piece can be perceived individually. Lyudmyla Yurina carefully left this personal space for us.

An understanding of the world and one`s place in it can be found somewhere at the intersection of the ancient and contemporary, natural and artificial, original and modified, imaginary and real.

Твори сучасних українських композиторів посідають важливе місце в репертуарі іноземних музикантів. Одна з вітчизняних композиторок, якою захоплюються виконавці і публіка в багатьох країнах світу — Людмила Юріна. Радіємо можливості представити одразу два її твори: “Drift” (2014) та “Ran-nan” для 19 струнних інструментів (1993).

Філософські композиції, написані з застосуванням сучасних музичних технік, можна порівняти з картиною, яку хочеться розглядати довго й уважно, щоб осягнути її ідею та авторський посил. Та замало дивитись на полотно лише ззовні, важливо зазирнути всередину самого себе. Як відомо, крізь призму власних відчуттів, емоцій, досвіду, асоціацій та уяви один і той самий твір може сприйматися досить індивідуально. Людмила Юріна дбайливо залишила цей особистий простір для нас. Розуміння світу і свого місця в ньому знайдеться десь на перетині стародавнього і новітнього, природного і штучного, первозданного і модифікованого, уявного і реального.
